Graphics, Vision, Materials, and Optimization
Abstract:
In this talk, I will describe my work that started in photorealistic material appearance capture for realistic graphics applications, and has, since my thesis, expanded into broader problems combining graphics, vision, optimization, and machine learning. Additionally, I will briefly describe fresh results from two recent works: our upcoming paper on capturing material appearance using
convolutional neural networks (accepted to SIGGRAPH 2018), and a CNN-based image processing method that sets a dramatic new state of the art in image restoration from bursts of badly corrupted pictures.
