New network-science-based methods to analyze brain imaging data, human mobility, and public transportation networks
Rainer Kujala, M.Sc.(Tech) will defend the dissertation "From the brain to public transport: applications of network science" on 28 September at 12 noon at the Aalto University School of Science, lecture hall T2, Konemiehentie 2, Espoo. In the dissertation, new methods were developed for network-based analysis of functional brain imaging data, estimation of travel times based on call detail records, and analysis of public transport networks based on their schedules. Additionally, a data set consisting of 25 cities' public transport networks is presented to be used for research purposes.
