Undergraduate Research Opportunities

The purpose of Undergraduate Research Opportunities (UROP) is to introduce students on both bachelor and masters levels to academic research by working on a real research project with Aalto faculty, graduate students, and other researchers.

The work takes place in an established research group, and its objectives are always agreed upon separately. Examples of possible projects include programming, performing experiments, data collection and processing, documentation, and building prototypes. Work is performed either for pay, or for credit points that are registered to the student's transcript under a suitable "Individial studies" course code (e.g. CS-E4004, CS-E4970, CS-E5004). Credit typically varies between 2-10 points. This is always agreed upon ahead of time, and the choice may not be available for all projects.

You can find more information on the wiki pages (intranet).
